3. Keeping Up-to-Date
There are many Christian discussion lists and
"communities" where you can talk to others who share your
interests, whether it's homeschooling, pastoring, teaching, sewing, or
woodworking. These can be great places to ask your questions and
get answers.
You can find these discussion groups on the Christian
portals I talked about earlier, or you can go to sites that specifically
list discussion groups by topic. One of these is at egroups.com.
Take a look at this site now and browse through some of the discussions
available under the heading "Christianity."
When you join one of these groups, you'll get
several emails
each day (or week or month, based on how often the people in the group
send messages to each other). You'll be able to watch other people
ask questions and discuss issues, or you can send an email to the
discussion group and someone will likely respond to you soon. You can
even create your own discussion group on websites like egroups.com
and invite others to join you.
For a free newsletter for new websites and other items
of interest for
Christians, you can sign up for a newsletter
called "Internet for Christians." You'll
receive regular updates by email with links and brief descriptions of
topics of interest. Go ahead and sign up for this free newsletter now if
you'd like, at gospelcom.net/ifc.
You can "unsubscribe" at any time if you decide later it's not for you.
And at the end of this course, I'll give you a link to
many other great resources that you might like to try called "A
Sampling of Christian Sites to Try." You can take a brief
look at it now, or I'll provide the link again at the end so you can
take more time on your own.
These resources should be good starting points for keeping you up-to-date with Internet happenings.
Let me wrap up with some concluding comments on the
next page and then you're done with the course!
