Just to highlight another popular Christian portal,
take a look at gospelcom.net.
Go ahead and browse through their home page, try a few links, then come back.
One of the great benefits of sites like crosswalk.com
and gospelcom.net is
that they let you do a filtered search on the entire web using
their "safe search" feature.
This works similar to Alta Vista's "family filter" to screen
out objectionable material.
Of course, there are several other Christian gathering
places, or starting points, like these on the Internet. Now that
you know they exist, you'll be able to find some that group the
information in a way that suits you best.
Before we leave these two popular portals though, you might
want to go back to them using the links above and bookmark them in your browser to find your way back to
them quickly.
Finding a Ministry Online
You can often find a particular ministry or
company online by opening your browser (i.e. Internet Explorer or
Netscape Navigator) and typing the ministry name followed by .com or
.org or .net.
For instance, type billygraham.org
to go to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association website. Type
joycemeyer.com
for Joyce Meyer Ministries. Type gospellight.com
for the Gospel Light Vacation Bible School curriculum.
Some have even shorter abbreviations, such as family.org
for Focus on the Family. My own online ministry is called The
Ranch, and you can find it by typing theranch.org.
(By the way, I hope you'll take some time to take a tour of
The
Ranch after this workshop. I'll go into more detail about it
in the workshop called "Your
Church on the Internet" and share how I use it to get the
message of Christ out to people around the world.)
Let's continue our tour of helpful Internet
research tools with a look at some secular sites on the next page.
