Here's a simple use of audio on a website, and a funny one at that.  Go to the section called "Take a Walk" on The Ranch and look at the "Trail of Jokes."  The fast way to get there is theranch.org/walks/jokes/jokecow.htm.  Give the page a little time to load, then click on the "play" button to hear each cow.

Even though I've got over 180 pages of spiritual content on my website, this page happens to be one of the most popular!

The joke is funny and laughter is good medicine, but I also include this kind of page on my site because it draws many people who then look around at the spiritual content.  People search for "jokes" (among other things) on the Internet, so this is one of a number of ways to pull people into your site.

I also make use of audio on a music portion of my website.  Take a look at the section called "Listen to Music" to hear how music can be played over the Internet.  Go there directly from this link: theranch.org/music/concert.htm.  You can then listen to any number of songs on that page if you have the RealPlayer installed on your machine.  (If you don't yet have the software, follow the download and installation instructions on the page to get it for free and try it out.  You also need to have some kind of speakers on your machine to hear audio).

What's interesting to me about this kind of page is that I am able to make use of a gift that I seldom use in a church setting, but I can use widely here on the Internet.  In my case, I've simply not played the piano a great deal publicly, but I love playing privately.  The Internet allows me to use my gift in private, and then make it as public as God wants to over the Internet!

You may have people in your congregation with various gifts for writing, music, poetry, art, and so on who could use an Internet website as an outlet for their gift.

We'll take a look at video next.
