2. More Ministry Examples
Let me take you on a tour of some other websites that
have features you may like to incorporate into your own.
These first two are not necessarily big-name
ministries, but they have nice websites that show some of the things
a church can do to meet people's needs on the Internet.
Here's a website for a church called Gateway Church
in Herndon, Virginia: gatewaychurch.org.
Take a look at the menus and layout of the site. What I like about
their site is that they've organized the material to address
visitor's needs up front.
You can read the gospel, sermon notes, and get
suggested Bible readings each day. Whatever type of person you
may be, a believer, a seeker, someone wanting directions, you can get to
the information that affects you all on the home page.
Here's a note worth pointing out...some people talk
more about their churches organizational structure on the home page than
about the gospel. Put the gospel up front. Talk about
loneliness, hurt, depression, sex, or other topics where people live and
they're more likely to come in and hear what you have to say. Your
website may be the only contact with the gospel some people ever get, so
make sure it's up front.
Here's another church site for the Pacific Hills
Church in Aliso Viejo, California: pacifichills.org.
Using the same RealPlayer that other sites use, you can tune in to their
live broadcasts or hear any of their recent broadcasts.
On the next page, we'll look at some more church
websites that highlight different features
